Hello everybody
how ru all doin'
I just took the CCENT exam yesterday night and I passed it
this is my first cisco exam ever and my first try ever
to the people who wanna take the CCENT soon or to the people thinking to start preparing for the exam
I'm sorry fellas I wanted to post the scores here but obviously there's a policy preventing that here
so i did the following before taking the exam:
I downloaded the Wendell ebook 'CCENT-CCNA ICND1 Official Exam Certification Guide CCENT Exam 640-822 and.CCNA.Exam 640-802_2nd Edition' for free
I studied the whole book in like 2 weeks spending between 5-8 hours daily
after i finished i reviewed the book again focusing only on the 'exam preparation tasks'
to be honest with you if i had taken the exam directly though i understood everything in the book i would have got not more than 60%
I'm very fast at subnetting and I'm very good and fast at the configuration too
then for one week I took sample exams just to get used to the types of questions and while i was doing those i found out that not everything was covered in Wendell's book, stuff that i found in 'CCENT Exam Cram' for Michael Valentine (though valentine's book is about 300 pages and wendell's 700': ironic), which i also downloaded for free
during all this period of time i was using 'packet tracer version 5.1' which i also downloaded for free full version, which is the best i could find,
PS: you can get the demo version of 'Boson 7' which i recommend taking its tutorial lessons and applying them on the packet tracer
after those you could get up to 90% for sure coz to be honest with you like 10 questions out of 40 came very similar to what i solved in the sample exams
some people would say 'oh, don't come anyway near to brain dumps' i partially agree, but i dare anyone who only study those to get over 30% on the exam, so still they're a good way to feel a little bit secured
the disaster was having like 5 questions that i've never seen before anywhere like a simlet question on frame relay, and a question on core routers or smthg i don't know what that was till now and three other more questions
thanks to god i passed the exam and due to the horror i've been living in i wanted to share my experience of what i've been through
don't never ever get scared u won't finish on time on the exam, coz that would lead you to not think correctly
I offer any kind of help to anyone who wants to
I'll send the sources i've mentioned earlier to anyone who wants to, coz i know not all people could afford it, at least i couldn't
so all i paid for was 100$ for the exam at peason vue and now i'm cisco certified
leave a comment here and i'll get back to you
i'm going for the CCNA now
wish u all luck
and hope this was by any kinds helpful
